Queensland Fire and Emergency Services

Ignition has worked extensively with QFES over the past few years to produce annual reports, anniversary books, infographics, promotional materials and more.

FEATURED PROJECT

Queensland State Emergency Service (QSES) 40th anniversary publication

SES asked Ignition Creative to tender for the concept, design and production of their 40th anniversary coffee-table book.

This book featured stories about the “Orange Angels” (QFES volunteers), milestone events in the Queensland SES timeline and the organisation’s plans for the future.

Ignition collaborated with the SES from start to finish, providing services from print and project management to concept development and graphic design.

Project Feedback

We wanted to write and let you know how rapt we were with Ignition during our Queensland SES 40 Year Anniversary Book project. We have been trying to think of specific feedback relating to the process and anything that Ignition Creative could have improved on, but we came up with nothing.

Wayne and Meaghan went out of their way to provide customer service that is second to none. They took their time to come out and make sure we understood everything, listened to everything we asked for and responded ASAP. Their knowledge and genuine care of the end product (the coffee table book!) gave us absolute trust in their services and guided us through each stage of the process. We will certainly be recommending Ignition to as many people as we can.

We have heard nothing but love for it. The book has been so well received that a copy was requested for every current Member of Parliament. We have had wonderful feedback (including from other states and territories).

Thank you for helping us create this wonderful memorabilia reflective of the time, dedication, spirit and service SES Volunteers have contributed to Queensland over the last 40 years. We look forward to working with you again.

Other Projects

Strategy2030

Ignition was asked by Queensland Fire and Emergency Service (QFES) to assist with the concept, design and delivery of its Strategy2030 planning document.

Ignition worked closely with QFES to create a document that was easy to read and understand to communicate complex timelines and information. We designed infographics, blending them with supplied imagery and stock photography to create the perfect page.

Ignition also designed the promotional postcards and posters to support Strategy2030.

Strategy2030 was rolled out in 2019 and became an integral part of QFES’s direction up to the present.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Service (QFES): uniform lookbook/ catalogues

In early 2020, the QFES Uniforms & Logistics team asked Ignition to create their uniform lookbook and catalogue.

The purpose was to streamline the hundreds of uniform items across all four streams (QFES, Fire, Rescue and Operations Services, Rural Fire Service and State Emergency Service).

Ignition worked with QFES to develop a concept style, presenting uniform information in a way that was visually exciting and on-brand.

Ignition received each document in table format. For effortless reading, these were redesigned to support the approved concept.

The catalogue itself was split into four sections, one for each of the QFES streams. Photo-editing was a large part of the project, so every single product was deep-etched; colour-balancing and general image-editing were carried out where required.

All In. All Fronts.

All In. All Fronts. is a campaign developed by Queensland Fire and Emergency Services’ (QFES) Talent Acquisition team to attract volunteers and employees for the three QFES streams (Fire and Rescue Service, Rural Fire Service and State Emergency Service).

To promote the new campaign, Ignition developed marketing material with QFES — press advertising, posters and internal material; promotional material such as gym towels, sun shades and lanyards; and created interactive forms for internal use.

We’ve been so lucky to work with QFES on a number of projects, unfortunately we can’t feature them all! Other notable projects include:

  • 2020 Annual Report
  • QFES Bushfire Report
  • QFES Volunteerism Strategy
  • Operation Synergy Report
  • QFES Engagement Strategy.
